A life-long resident of Somerset County, Charles McClenahan founded Landmark in 1979. Over the last thirty years Landmark Insurance & Financial Group has become a full service, independent agency serving families and businesses throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
A long-time leader in local affairs, Charlie Mac was also active in many organizations, including being a member of the board of directors for the Lower Shore Workshop, the first chairman of the J. Millard Tawes Foundation, and a board member on the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore. Charles was also the chair of the Committee to Build Somerset County Public Golf Course, a member of the Lower Eastern SHore Mayor's Association, the first past president of the Crisfield Area Chamber of Commerce, the Salisbury State University Foundation, and the Tangier Sounc Music Festival. He was also a member of the Delmarva Water Transport Committee, and the Delmarva Industrial Developers Association.
Charlie was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates from 1992-2003. During his tenure he served on the House Economics Matters Committee, the Chesapeake Bay Commission, Governor's Task Force on Eastern SHore Development and was the first chairman of the Tri-COunty Council for the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Prior to his service in the Maryland legislature, Charlie served as the Mayor of Christfield and the Executive Director of the Somerset County Maritime and Industrial Committee.
Charlie is married and has two grown children and a grandson.
